 Search for National Director

The Executive Committee of Singapoe Centre for Evangelism (SCEM) wish to appoint a new National Director to lead the organisation through its next stage of development. The National Director, a Singaporean or a Singapore PR, as chief executive, will:

  • Report to & work in partnership with the Ex-Co.
  • Proide successful leadership & management of the organisation.
  • Be a mature Christian with experience in regional missions & organisational leadership.
  • Be able to develop partnerships and a passion for soul-winning.
  • Possess a university degree with theological training.
  • Be strategic minded and a creative thinker.
  • Have strong communication skills (both written and verbal), preferably bilingual, English & Mandarin.
  • Have strong executive and management skills for the implementation of SCEM's stated programmes and services.

The Singapore Centre for Evangelism and Missions (SCEM) was birthed in 1980 by a group of church and mission leaders in Singapore. The aim was to have a Centre for World Mission in Singapore to mobilise the Singapore Churches to become more active and effective in global mission work.

SCEM is registered as Society and a Charity under the laws of Singapore.

 How do you go beyond just short-term missions? How do you change from a church-with-missions into a missionary church? How do you change missions from being the sideshow to become the main thing? Our challenge is to help Singapore churches become sending churches. One project is to work with churches on in-house missionary training programmes.

We will work with like-minded mission pastors, practitioners, leaders, thinkers, researchers and theologians to study the development of missions in Singapore and Asia over the past 30-40 years through data collection and surveys. Findings of these missions trends studies will be published in reports, journals and books to support missions mobilisation by missional churches in Singapore. The dream is to develop a fully Singaporean missions think-tank in fulfillment of God's mandate and mission for Singapore in world missions.
